About

What is Eurovisions?

This conference aims to contribute to the international research about one of the biggest music events – the Eurovision Song Contest.  This third edition will create another academic and non-academic discussion forum, following the work launched in the first session in Lisbon (17 February and 7 - 9 May 2018) and the second session in Tel Aviv (14 - 15 May 2019).

This year, under the topic The Power of Change: Challenges and Opportunities for Eurovision, the EUROVISIONS Conference team wants to continue to bring together the Eurovision community of academics, musicians, professionals, and fans. Thus, considering the COVID-19 situation, we are organising a series of online events on the 26th, 28th and 30th of May 2020.

Our focus is to reflect on how the pandemics has impacted the event and those involved: broadcasters, organisers, artists, musicians, audiences, fans. Each day we will bring you pre recorded interviews and live discussions in which you can participate. We will announce the program soon.

We will be back next year in a live format along with the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, as we have done in previous years in Lisbon and TelAviv.
