Eberhard Wolff Opens the Eurovisions International Conference 2025 with “Fairness? What Fairness?”

We are honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Eberhard Wolff as the keynote speaker at the Eurovisions International Conference 2025. A distinguished cultural anthropologist and medical historian, Prof. Wolff holds the title of Titularprofessor at the University of Basel and serves as an associate researcher at the University of Zurich's Institute for Social Anthropology and Empirical Cultural Studies .​

In his keynote address, titled “Fairness? What Fairness?”, Prof. Wolff will explore the multifaceted concept of fairness within the context of the Eurovision Song Contest. Drawing from his extensive research on cultural practices, health, and identity, he will examine how notions of fairness are constructed, perceived, and contested in popular culture.​
